THE PINOY "JUMPER"

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Have you seen the movie “Jumper“? That movie about people who can teleport from one place to another instantly? Well guess what, the first alleged account of teleportation is way back in 1593  by a Filipino Guardia Civil named Gil Perez who allegedly suddenly appeared in the Plaza Mayor of Mexico city on October 24, 1593. He was wearing the uniform of the guards of Palacio Del Gobernador in the Philippines, and claimed he had no idea how he had arrived in Mexico.

On October 24, 1593 , on the Plaza Mayor in Mexico City. A man stood out from the rest. A soldier wearing a  Philippine Guardia Civil uniform that was quite unlike the others in Mexico and it was obvious that he was confused.

When he was taken in interrogation he told the Mexican authorities: “My name is Gil Perez. As to standing sentry here - why I am merely doing as nearly as possible what I was ordered to do. I was ordered this morning to mount Guard at the doors of the Governor’s palace in Manila . I know very well this is not the Governor’s palace - and evidently I am not in Manila . Why or how that may be I do not know. But here I am and this a Palace of some kind so I am doing my duty as nearly as possible.”

Then the Philippine soldier added: “Last night the Governor of the Philippines , His Excellency Don Gomez Perez Dasmarinas , had his head cracked with an axe in the Moluccas and is dead of the blow.”

The Philippine soldier was told that he was in Mexico City , thousands of miles from Manila , and he could not believe it, saying that he had received his orders on the morning of October 25, 1593 in Manila and that it was therefore impossible for him to be in Mexico City on the evening of October 24, 1593.

The Mexican authorities placed the Philippine soldier in jail as a deserter and for the possibility that he may have been a witch or in the service of Satan. You can’t blame the Mexican authorities back then because that sh*t is totally freaky! David Copperfield ain’t born yet during that time. Sh*t!

The Philippine soldier was jailed in Mexico City for two months, until a Manila Galleon(a ship) arrived from the Philippines. It brought news of that Governor Dasmarinas had indeed been murdered and literally axed by Chinese rowers on October 23, 1593 in the Moluccas. And the Manila galleon passengers not only identified the Philippine soldier as Gil Perez but also recalled seeing him in Manila on the Morning of October 25, 1593, the day before he was arrested in Mexico City. Daaaaamn!

This sh*t is mind-boggling, man. Yeah, jumping around the world is possible. Anywhere is possible. But jumping in less time than it takes a chicken to crow? Damn, I thought sh*t like that can only happen in the movies.

DO YOU PRAY OR DO YOU WISH?

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Do you pray to God? What do you pray for? How do you pray? I pray to God… sometimes. Well, I pray. A lot of us remembers God, only when they want or need something. We only pray because we need help or we’re troubled… or we need money or we need a job or because we need to get better because we’re sick or we are in deep sh*t or sumthin’. And when our prayers were answered, sometimes we forget to give thanks.

I only pray to give thanks. That’s it! I made it a habit that everytime when something good happens to me, I pray and give thanks. It doesn’t matter on how big or microscopic the blessing is. It doesn’t matter if it’s a million dollars or just a glass of water. It is a blessing. What I do is that everytime something good happens to me is that I pause for one minute or less. I pray. I appreciate the blessing and give thanks for it, then continue whatever I was doing. That one minute of giving thanks always give me a sense of joy and happiness everytime. I know this might sound gay for some people. But it’s the truth. It’s the real sh*t! It makes me feel hella good everytime I do it. For real, man! Hahaha!

My point is that we must start giving thanks rather than making wishes like Aladdin. All I’m sayin’ is that the answer to our problems, wishes, prayers or whatever, is all around us! We are just too blind or too stupid and dumb to really see it! Our questions are already have been answered, our problems are already have been solved before we know it. Everything we want and need is already have been provided by God since the creation of the universe. God is not stupid. The Man is finished with His work. Now, give The Man a break and give ‘em all the credit.
